TXL, Spec 44 or Tefzel? Pick What Fits the Car

The most expensive wire is not always the best choice. Heat, seals, tools and future repairs all matter.

Choose for the environment

Wire size handles current. Insulation handles heat, rubbing and fluids. TXL can be great for a quality street build, while higher-spec wire makes sense when heat, weight and tight packaging become more serious.

Everything has to match

The wire, terminal and seal must fit together. Mixing the wrong sizes can look fine at first and fail once the car sees heat and vibration.

Good wire still needs good tools

The correct stripper and crimp tool matter as much as the wire itself. If the tool damages strands or makes inconsistent crimps, expensive wire will not save the harness.
